January 11th Writing Prompt:
If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.
Where is the beauty in life if you already know how your story unfolds? Not knowing what the future holds is a bonus, you create your own future after all by every decision you make and every action you take. To read a book that has every detail of what has happened to you and is going to happen to you would be very overwhelming. Although, I can’t dismiss the fact that to read what you know you have survived would be rewarding too.
In life we undertake many trial and tribulations that we need to learn to overcome and what the situation is trying to teach us. In this way, we develop ourselves and grow into a better person. Through every obstacle thrown our way we end up gathering the strength to see it through and make it on the other end. It is in these lessons that equip up with the wisdom and the strength to see the future. For example, as one of my favourite teachers said “you must be willing to take a stepping stone in order to get to where you need to be”.
I’m excited to see where I am going to be in the next 10 years. The mystery is what makes it even more exciting. So many things could happen and if you knew your ending, there is no experience because you are already aware of your journey. If you found out that your ending was going to be bad you would do everything to change your fate and potentially self destruct – what is the point in life if it is not worth it in the end?
I hope you enjoyed reading, I know I’m behind on writing prompts sorry!
