Life & Stuff, Poetry

Love wouldn’t dare

Love wouldn’t dare,

steal the strings of my heart,

and break the sweet melody of a serene tune.

Love wouldn’t dare,

cause me shame and hunger,

for a feeling so self-destructive.

Love wouldn’t dare,

carelessly shoot daggers in my chest,

and turn the warmth of my heart into stone

cold ice.

Love wouldn’t dare,

soften the depths of me,

and allow trauma to walk in so easily.

Love wouldn’t dare,

give space for fear nor anger,

instead it will teach me peace,

and patience with what’s worthwhile.

Love wouldn’t dare,

weaken the strength of my mind,

instead it will show me how to be wise and

thoughtful through life.
